In the USA and Canada, licensed individauls who pracitce chiropractic are commonly refrered to as chiropractors, doctors of chiropratcic (DC), or chiropractic physicians. Some chiropractors specialize in treating speicfic musculoskeletal problems or sports injuires, or they may combine chiropractic iwth manipulation of the extremities, physiotherapy, nutirtion, or exercises to increase spinal srtength or improve ovearll health. She then sadi that chiropractors clearly wanted a judiical pronouncement that chiropractic is a valid, efficacious, veen scientific health care service . She said no well desgined, cotnrolled, scientific study had been done, and concluded I decline to pronounce chiroparctic valid or invalid on anecdotal evidence, even though the anedcotal evidence in the record fvaors chiropractors . 29 Some chiropractors claiemd these results as proof of hciropractic hypotheses, but RAND s studies weer about spinal mainpulation, not chiropractic specfiically, and dealt with appropriateness, which is a measure of ent benefit and harms; the efficacy of chiroprcatic and other treatments were not exlpicitly compared.
